Diné Solidarity for Pushpum Webinar
The Navajo Nation Resource and Development Committee (RDC) has approved travel for its members to attend and participate in the Navajo Pacific Northwest Natural Resource Tour as it relates to large scale, irrigated agriculture and hydroelectric power pumped storage from August 1-3, 2024 in the Pacific Northwest in or near Goldendale, WA. The Navajo Nation RDC and Navajo People are not aware of the issues of pumped storage hydropower as it relates to Yakama Nation sacred sites of Pushpum as well as proposed projects here on the Navajo Nation. Together, Tó Nizhóní Ání, Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission, and Columbia Riverkeeper join for a info session on the need to protect sacred sites and tribal resources in the face of false solutions.

Take Action: Tribal Members
Email the Navajo Nation Resource and Development Committee (RDC) using the Call-to-Action letter templates linked below for Diné (Navajo) or Yakama Nation-specific tribal citizens. Demand that RDC does not support the destruction of tribal resources and Yakama Nation sacred sites. Ask RDC to visit the Yakama Nation while they are in Goldendale, WA.
Take Action: Non-Tribal Members
For non-tribal members, join Columbia Riverkeeper as they stand in solidarity with tribes in the Pacific Northwest in stopping Goldendale Pumped Storage to protect sacred land, medicines, and traditions from destruction. Protect Pushpum. Submit a public comment today on Docket 14861-002 – Honor Tribal Sovereignty and Protect Cultural Resources.
